Scrapbooking is a creative and relaxing way to document your life, and preserve your memories. Any age can do this hobby. Any one can do this hobby. Whether you are single, married, have children or none. Live in a busy city or a rural hideaway.
Scrapbooking is a rewarding hobby. By putting photographs onto layouts and into mini albums you are more likely to look through these albums more often. Adding embellishments, washi tape and using stamps makes scrapbook layouts more appealing.
Playing with pretty patterned papers, stamps, and embellishments can be spiritually fulfilling for a creative or even non-creative person. Scrapbooking can be as simple or complex as you like.
I started scrapbooking in 2006, and slowly started to document our life as a family and my place in it. I am an “everyday” scrapbooker. I am passionate about photography too, which goes hand in hand with preserving memories and stories through scrapbooking, but a camera on your phone is good enough to preserve memories.
While we lived in New Zealand I created over ten full 12 x 12 scrapbook albums of all our adventures. I have only filled about ten scrapbook albums while living in Guernsey, not that many adventures happened and really look forward to crafting thousands of layouts and mini albums for all our new adventures in Galway, Ireland.
I create layouts for my favourite coffee cup or favourite pair of shoes right alongside photographs for holidays and birthdays. I love the creative outlet that scrapbooking gives me. This makes me happy. I love being able to look at something amazing that I have created that will last for years and years.
My absolutely all time favourite brand is American Crafts. I love their collections. The designs and embellishments are perfect for my scrapbooking style.
My favourite product is patterned paper. My go-to product for starting a layout.
I love playing with Distress Inks and colouring in stamped images (Altenew and Lawn Fawn are great for this) with Distress Markers and watercolour paints.
I am looking forward to the challenge of running an online scrapbook craft supply business in Ireland and finding new brands and products to play with.
