Peek A Boo Window Card

I was inspired by my Mom (Janet) to make a Peek A Boo Winter card with the Lawn Fawn critters. All the products I used are listed and linked below – along with a template for the window.

I traced the window frame onto a piece of cardstock and used my craft knife to cut out these rectangles, which I kept to one side so I could make another card later. I have created a template that you can use to recrete this window frame (at the bottom of this post).

I placed all the stamps onto the card back piece and used the frame to make sure that the critters would be in the right places.  Then I picked up all the stamps on one acrylic block to stamp them.  I added some snowflakes to add some interest.

I checked that all stamped critters would be seen. The sentiment I used is a little tight in the window, but it can still be read so I’m okay with this. I coloured in the critters, presents and snowflake points with my Zig markers. Soft browns for the deer and grey for the penguin with a dot of red for their rosy cheeks.  And green and red presents with golden yellow ribbon and bows.

I needed to add some colour to the frame so it would add some dimension to the card and make it more ‘window’ like.  I used my mini ink blending tool and Distress ink.  We have some short videos on our Facebook page using the blending tool with Distress ink.

Once the window frame was stuck on the critter backing piece I added some more details.  I used a Distress marker to add a dashed line around the windows.  Die cut and coloured a Santa hat for the sitting deer and added some blue and clear sequins.
For the card base I randomly stamped the swirl stamp to create a pattern, then centered the full window piece onto this 4.25 cm x 5.5 cm side folding card base.
