Happy Holidays Friends

How is your Christmas card making and shopping going?  I am trying to get as many handmade gifts as I can.  How many critters can you fit on one card? I stamped a bunch of the reindeers and penguins from Toboggan Together stamp set onto smooth Bristol card with archival black ink, grabbed my Zig clean colour real brush markers and tried out some colour combinations. I also stamped several hats.

Once they were all coloured, I die cut them with the co-ordinating dies and placed to the side. I die cut two pieces of Bristol card with the largest cross stitched rectangle die, from one of the inside rectangles I die cut two sloped hillsides for the critters to sit on.

By using a light touch, I ink blended Tumbled Glass distress ink to the top of the snowbank. On the other inside of the stitched rectangle piece, I ink blended Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean distress ink.  I spritzed this with water, using my Distress Sprayer, let it sit for about 5-10 seconds and blotted dry with a paper towel.

I stamped the sentiment from the Toboggan Together stamp set to the top right of the background scene with archival jet black ink.

I laid out the snowbanks and placed the critters on the card. I tried to get a good balance of reindeers and penguins and a balance of colour. I adhered the back snowbank flush to the card and used small amounts of liquid glue to adhere the critters.

I foam mounted the front snowbank to the card and finished adding the rest of the critters, using liquid glue and small pieces of foam tape.I added hats to some of the critters (some behind other critters and some in front). To finish this card I added black glaze pen to all their eyes and added this card front to a 14 x 11cm side folding card base created from bazzill marshmallow card.

Do you love all these critters hanging out together?  All the supplies are listed and linked to our shop, to make your shopping experience easier.
