Thank you Cards using the Ink Smooching Technique

posted in: Blog, Janet 0

Hello, today I am sharing how to make Thank You Cards.Since both cards are made the same way but with different colours, these are the instructions are for both Thank You Cards.

All the supplies I used are listed and linked at the bottom of this post.  Clicking on any highlighted word will take you to that product.

Thank You Cards

Ink Smooshing

I smooshed some Squeezed Lemonade and Picked Raspberry distress ink onto my craft mat, sprayed some water from the Distress sprayer to move the colour around, and pressed a piece of Mixed Media paper into it and left this dry.

Diecut Sentiment

From green cardstock I die cut the letters THANK using the Block Alpha Capital die by Diamond Press and also die cut the sunburst using the Burst Die by Avery Elle.  I used washi tape to hold these letter dies together so I could use it again. When the mixed media sheet was dry I die cut a circle using the Cross Stitched Circle die by Lawn Fawn.

From this circle I also die cut the THANK just above the middle.

Finishing The Card

To make up this card I adhered the sunburst element onto the card base leaving a small space at the top. I then adhered the circle on top of this. Using the green letters I inlaid these into the corresponding letters on the circle, and stamped ‘you’ underneath with black ink.

On the card base I used the Dots and Dashes dies by Paper Smooches to make a pattern along the top and bottom of this card, and added some embellishments to finish this card.

Blue Card

The blue card was made in the same way as the green but using Tumbled Glass and Picked Raspberry distress ink on the smooching. I die-cut the Burst and letters from blue cardstock.

Which do you prefer? The green card or the blue one?
