Hello, I like finding new ways to stretch my supplies and wanted to play with the Big Greetings stamp set by Avery Elle, also the Toboggan Together stamp set by Lawn Fawn.
I placed two stitched rectangle dies inside each other and die cut a piece of 14 x 11 cm watercolour card to create a frame, I then die cut this once more to create a second frame. From the inside panel I die cut a stitched hillside.
On the top part of the watercolour panel, I stamped the sentiment from the Big Greetings stamp set and snowflakes from the Toboggan Together stamp set with versamark. I poured on white embossing powder, tapped off the excess and heat set. When the embossing piece had cooled, I used my ink blending tool to add Tumbled Glass distress ink to the sky with a little Salty Ocean at the top. For the snowbank I lightly added Tumbled Glass along the top and both sides.
I stamped the sitting penguin five times and one Santa hat with archival jet black ink onto watercolour paper. I used various grey shades of Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers (90 Grey, 91 Light Grey, 10 Black, 95 Dark Grey and 99 Cool Grey). I placed a little of the colour from the marker on the edges of the penguin and blended the colour towards the middle. For the hat I used 260 Deep Red and 22 Carmine Red. While the penguins were drying I spritzed the watercolour panels with clear water from my Distress Sprayer. I let the water droplets sit for 10-15 seconds and blotted dry with a paper towel.
I used the co-ordinating dies for the Toboggan Together stamps and die cut all the penguins and the hat. I created a card base with Bazzill Marshmallow Cardstock and cut to 14 x 11cm. Using liquid glue, I added the frame onto the card base, placed some acrylic blocks on the card help the frame to adhere to the card. I used liquid glue to adhere the second frame. I adhered the sky and snowbank inside the frame onto the card base. I used a tape runner to adhere the penguins to the card placing them so they are sitting in a group. The Santa Hat was then added to one penguin.
This is a wintery thank you card with Christmas themed stamps so it still needs some sparkle. I added some blue, white and iridescent sequins and white and blue seed beads from The Attic findings embellishment kit by 28 Lilac Lane. I used Perfect Paper Adhesive (which I’ve put into a Precision Tip Bottle) to adhere the sequins and beads.
