Distressed Background Halloween Card Blog Hop

posted in: Blog 3

Hi, this is my card tutorial for our blog hop. I decided to make a Halloween themed card using the Cityscape dies by Avery Elle. There is also a video on our YouTube channel showing how I created this card. Watch the video by clicking HERE, give a thumbs up if you enjoyed it, subscribe to our channel then come back here to leave a comment. There are some great prizes up for grabs. The list of supplies used on this no sentiment card are listed and linked to the shop below.Halloween-Distress-Oxide

I used some Mixed Media Heavyweight card as my base and smooshed Spiced Marmalade and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide ink onto my craft sheet. Spritzing on some water to get the ink to bead up and swiped and pushed my card through the ink. To get the oxide effect I used my heat gun to dry this panel and added more water to the ink, swiped the card through again and sprinkled on some water to get some of the fun effects from the Oxide inks. Using some white and silver watercolour paints to add some splatters and put this aside to dry. I also added the silver watercolour to the moon.

I die cut the house border from black card, and the moon and ghosts from white card. Behind the windows in the houses I added some yellow card. White card coloured with the 405 Nuvo marker. Adhering this with liquid glue  and added some dimension to the ghosts with Crystal Glaze. I set this aside to dry then added it to a side folding 4 ¼ by 5 ½” card base.

This is the last stop on the blog hop. The first stop is HERE.

Make sure you have left a comment on every blog post to be in with the chance of winning a great prize! (There may be 2 or 3 winners!)
Commenting ‘closes’ on 15th October when Janet and I will pick the winner/s.
We hope you have enjoyed this blog hop.

Love this card Jeni…. I don’t have these oxide colours, think I might add them to my collection.
    Great tip using the eraser……I
Transfer ink from messy fingers all the time and didn’t know what worked to remove it.

Also, I think the music you used was inspired I found myself humming along ?
