Fun Christmas Slider

Hi, I couldn’t wait to make a slider card with this cute girl Elf and use the new Interactively Yours stamp set. Both sets are by Heffy Doodle and are high-quality clear stamps.  I borrowed the finished coloured girl Elf from Mom – the colours she used to colour in this happy little Elf are listed on this blog post HERE.  I stamped and die cut the skates so it will look like the girl is skating along the card and used liquid glue to attach them to her feet.

I die cut a piece of Neenah Solar White with a wonky stitches die by Avery Elle, and also from this piece of card I die cut the Forest border die, and curved die from the Slide On Over die set.  From another piece of white card, I die cut the wonky stitches die and a curved hillside.

Working on my craft mat to keep my work surface clean, I blended on Broken China Distress Oxide for the sky and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide for the land with the Ranger Mini ink blending tools.  To hold these two pieces together – I put some masking tape across the back and placed the trees in the gaps – in-lay die cut style.

I placed two layers of foam tape around the slider hole making sure that my penny would be able to move easily, and around the rest of the card so the whole card is level and nothing will get squashed in the post.  The Elf girl is a little too skinny for my penny -I used some strong tape to adhere a scrap of card to the penny and inked this with the same Cracked Pistachio oxide ink.  I also inked a scrap of card to go behind the slider gap with the same green ink.

I trimmed a double layer of foam tape to fit inside the slider gap and placed the girl on top, making sure that it will still slide easily.  Before adhering the ice/snow bank I stamped the sentiments. I used “HAVE SOME FUN” “This” and “Christmas” from the Elfish Antics stamp set to the right side, and added a tiny “Slide Me” to the left side.

I mounted this to a 14 x 11 top folding card base.  I mislaid a piece of the sky when I die cut the forest border so will add a few sequins around the card, and to cover this part.  If you do add sequins to your slider cards make sure that nothing will interfere or stop the sliding element.
