Happy Birthday Pegasus

Hello, aren’t the Pegasus Duo stamp set by Avery Elle cute?  I love colouring their mane and tails different colours!  I made these two cards using different colour combinations, but the same supplies – which I will list and link at the bottom of this post.

Stamping & Colouring

I stamped both of the Pegasus stamps on Bristol card with Archival Jet Black ink and used the Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers to colour them in.  Also stamped and coloured a bunch of pegasus’ so I have more to use on future cards.

Emboss Sentiment Background

I trimmed some Bristol card to 11 x 14cm and using the Versamark ink, stamped the large ‘Happy Birthday’ from the Big Greetings stamp set at an angle across the card for the purple card.  Stamping all over the background so I have a pattern.  I covered this with some Satin White embossing powder and heat set until all the powder was melted.

Next, I die some cloud borders from another piece of Bristol card.  For the blue card I stamped the Big Greetings sentiment once in the top center of the card, and used the same embossing powder.

Adding colour to the background with Distress Inks and an ink blending tool.  The purple card is Dusty Concord and Shaded Lilac.  The blue card is Crushed Olive and Peacock Feathers. (Peacock Feathers is one of my favourite Distress colours – what’s yours?)

I use the non stick craft mat to help the ink blending tool move onto the card smoothly so I don’t get any harsh lines or marks.  Moving the ink blending tool in a circular motion to blend the colours together and get a good soft blend between the colours.  Adding colour to the cloud borders the same way. Spritzing all the panels with water from the Distress Sprayer, let the water sit for 10 – 20 seconds and blotted dry with a paper towel.  I then used this paper towel buff off any colour from the embossing.  For the purple card – I stamped some solid stars with Dusty Concord ink.

Finishing The Card

Foam mounting the cloud borders onto the card front.  One layer of foam tape behind the furthest back clouds and two layers of foam tape to the most front cloud.  Adding foam tape behind the pegasus’ too – making sure there is foam behind all the little parts that overhang the clouds, like their horns.
