Happy Silly Penguins

Hi, Jeni here with a fun and silly Christmas card using the happy penguins from Brring on The Joy stamp set.

Stamping & Diecutting

Trimming Neenah white card to 12 x 9 cm I die cut a tag shape three times keeping the space between each tag the same.  Tracing the inside tag shapes onto a piece of watercolour card so I could stamp the penguins coming in from all sides.  I made sure that each penguin would be at a different angle and would come in from the sides and the top of the tag shapes, erasing my pencil lines when this was done.  Filling in with the trail of lights, stars, snowflakes and candy canes.  I also randomly stamped the stars and snowflakes onto another piece of watercolour card to use as my background.Happy-Penguin-Card

Colouring & Sentiment

I trimmed the piece with the penguins stamped so it would fit behind the white card and use my Zig markers to colour all the images in. Keeping the colouring simple with just a grey for the penguins, and red, blue, green and yellow.  The colours I used are listed below.  Also colouring in the stars on the background piece.  Before adhering the white card to the penguins I stamped the sentiment “It’s Penguin-ing to look a lot like Christmas” with black ink.Happy-Penguin-Card

Finishing The Card

I used tape runner to adhere the white card to the penguin coloured piece and popped this up with foam tape to the background piece.  I adhered this to a 4.25 x 5.5″ card base.

How are you getting on with your Christmas Card making? Do you have many more to make?
