Hello, I enjoy making scene cards, I wanted to add all the critters and a lot of the birds from the Avery Elle Wild Birthday stamp set. The list of supplies are at the bottom of this post, and are linked to the shop. Have you seen our new YouTube channel? We are sharing card making how to videos!
I trimmed a piece of Bristol Smooth card to 14 x 11cm and with my craft mat and ink blending tools I ink blended Mowed Lawn distress ink at the bottom with Twisted Citron at the top to make a forest scene. I spritzed water from my Distress Sprayer, let the water sit for only a few seconds before blotting dry.
On another piece of Bristol Smooth I stamped the lion, rhino and hippo, the birds and a bunch of leaves. I used the Zig Real Brush Clean Colour Markers, a paint brush and a little pot of water to colour all the images. The colours I used are (Rhino -Grey Brown, Hippo – Grey, Lion – Brown body, Mid Brown mane, Leaves – May Green, Deep Green, Birds – Light Blue).
I die cut the critters and leaves using the co-ordinating dies. I die cut the green background with a wonky stitched die by Avery Elle that I got for my birthday. Using both dies. I placed the critters and birds where I wanted them to go and stamped the sentiments ‘Huge Birthday Wishes’ and ‘hip hippo hooray’ in archival jet black ink.
To put this card together (I used a Bazzill 14 x 11 cm card base), I held the border piece whilst adhering the centre panel into the gap. I adhered some foam tape to give the frame some dimension. The hippo was adhered to the back of the card, the rhino has some foam tape behind him with liquid glue on his feet. The lion has foam tape behind his body, with liquid glue on his feet and tail. Two of the birds are popped up on foam tape. For all the leaves I used liquid glue and made a cluster around the top corners of the card frame.
The items I used to create this card:
Bazzill Card base 5.5 x 4.25
Bristol Smooth panel 14x11cm
Wild Birthday Stamp Set and co-ordinating dies by Avery Elle
Foam Tape by 3M
Liquid Glue by Tombow
