Lemon Squeezy Background Stamping

posted in: Blog, janet 0

Hello, Janet here with an easy way to make a background on your cards using three stamps from the Hugs Stamp Set by Concord & 9th. I made a card base using bazzill cardstock , scored this in half, and trimmed a card front using watercolour card to 5.5″ x 4.25″.

On an acrylic block I placed the lemon stamp from Hugs stamp set by Concord & 9th and started randomly stamping over the watercolour with jet black archival ink. I used the half lemon stamp and the juice slashes to fill in any spaces.

I used Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers to colour the slices of lemons in, and also around the lemons and the juice splashes. The colours are named in the supply list below.

On a piece of printable vellum I stamped the sentiment ‘Consider yourself Freshly Squeezed’ from
the same stamp set with versafine onyx black ink and covered with clear embossing powder and heat set. I adhered this vellum strip to the lemon panel – adding some adhesive at the back, so it won’t be visible.  The full panel was then adhered to the card base with liquid glue. I placed a few gems in the centre of the juice slashes to add some sparkle.

What is your favourite fruit that you could use with this stamp set?
