Hello, I have a couple clean and simple cards using the beautiful Concord and 9th You Are Enough stamp set to create some encouragement cards. This is such a versatile stamp set for encouragement and survivor cards, or you could even use the flower with sentiments from other stamp sets for birthday cards or thank yous.
Stamping & Colouring
For the first card I first stamped the floral image with black ink onto the textured side of watercolour card and did some simple watercolouring with the Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers. I used 30 Blue and 31 Cobalt Blue to add the colour to the petals, adding the darker (30 Blue) colour at the base of the petals where they would naturally be darker, then the Cobalt Blue and pulled the colour out with a Wink of Stella clear glitter brush. The stem is 47 May Green (my absolutely favourite green).
Embossing With Dies
Once this was dry, I used two scallop oval dies from Tonic to emboss a frame on my card. I used my BIg Shot die cutting machine. Check how to create the correct sandwich if you have a different machine.
The sandwich for the Big Shot die cutting machine for embossing with your dies is:
- Work on Tab 1
- Cutting Plate
- Embossing Mat
- Card and die (facing down)
- Top cutting plate
Sentiment & Finishing The Card
I trimmed the panel smaller and added it to a blue mat and then to my card base. For the sentiment I stamped You Are and Brave onto some scrap watercolour card, trimmed it out and added it to the card.
For the second card I stamped the flower image randomly across the card to create a background pattern on the smooth side of watercolour card. This stamp set is a layering stamp set. As well as the flower outline image, there are two layering stamps. I added the first flower stamp layer with Lavender Fields ink and the second layer stamp with Midnight Violet ink. Going over this layer with the Wink of Stella glitter brush pen to add some sparkle. Then the stem layer was stamped and coloured with 47 May Green Zig markers, and filled in some of the empty space with the little solid heart stamp using Ocean Waves ink.
I have no blue card that matched the blue hearts, so I smooshed the blue ink pad over some white card so the colours would match. Once this was dry, I stamped the sentiment You Are A Fighter, trimmed it to size and adhered it to the card.
What type of cards do you make/send more?
