CAS Joy To The World Christmas Card by Laura

Hello, and welcome back, crafty friends! It’s Laura on the blog today bringing you a clean and simple (CAS) Christmas card using Avery Elle’s Sending Peace Stamp & Catherine Pooler’s BFF Background Stamp. After the labour-intensive, interactive cards I threw at you last month, I thought we all could use a bit of white space…and relaxing cardmaking! 😊

For the first two weeks this month, the design team will be sharing inspiration posts for The Little Paper Tree’s Instagram Hop in honor of World Cardmaking Day on October 6th. Enter for your chance to win a £20 Gift Voucher from The Little Paper Tree!!

Heat Embossing

First off, I prepped a panel of Neenah Solar White for heat embossing. Using a stamping tool and Versamark Watermark Ink, I stamped out that gorgeous BFF Background Stamp from Catherine Pooler. Since I’m going for a white-on-white look, I used a sparkle embossing Powder to add a hint of subtle elegance. (We are currently having storms here in Ireland so you the photos don’t do it justice!)

I trimmed the panel down to be 3.75” x 5” and put it aside.

Vellum Border Stamping

With that done, I cut a piece of Vellum long enough to wrap around the panel, and wide enough to fit my sentiment. I prepped it for heat embossing and used my stamping tool to stamp out the festive “Joy” and the berries from Avery Elle’s Sending Peace stamp.

Using Zig Clean Color Real Brushes, I quickly colored the backof the vellum paper/heat embossed images for a really soft look (from the front.)

Making The Card

I wrapped the vellum around the diamond panel and taped to the back using cello tape (so you would see any glue through the vellum on the front.) I added foam tape to the entire back on the panel and adhered to a Catherine Pooler card base.

Finishing The Card

I stamped the rest of the sentiment onto red cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down and added to the vellum with 3M foam tape.

And, viola! That’s all there is to it! I think it’s a quite classy card and it was really easy to pull together!

Have you started making your Christmas cards yet? I’m not usually working on them this early but I’m finding myself especially motivated this year! Share your latest cards over in The Little Paper TreehouseFacebook group – I know you all will inspire me even more! 😊

Thanks for stopping by…and see Y’all next time! Xo
