Hi, now that Christmas is over I can get back to my beloved floral stamps. I love colouring in flowers and have a one layer card to share with you today.
I stamp the big floral image onto Bristol smooth card with Versamark embossing ink and cover the sticky embossing ink with Classic Gold embossing powder. Heat setting the powder until it was all melted and smooth. Then use the Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers to colour in the image.
I put the colour down where it would naturally be darker – at the base of the petals and the bottom of the leaves and where one leaf/petal is overlapping another. Using an Aqua Flow water brush to bring the colour out. The colours I use are listed and linked below with the supplies.
Since I left no space for a sentiment I needed to add a banner strip. I trimmed a piece of vellum to and stamped Happy and Birthday with Versamark ink and used the same gold embossing powder. Heat setting this sentiment then I decided that I needed something to make this stand out from the background. I placed some Be Creative Scor tape along the bottom of the vellum piece and used this to hold the gold embossing powder, and heat set this.
Finishing The Card
Lastly, I placed the vellum sentiment strip where I want it to be and folded the ends around to the back of the card to adhere the vellum strip to the card. I added this to a standard card base and my first floral card of 2018 is finished.
Who would you send this card too?
