Good morning. It’s Alison again. As soon as I saw the new Peek-a-Boo Pals animal stamp set from Avery Elle, I just knew I wanted to use them with a stencil I already had in my stash.
Firstly I cut a piece of Bristol Smooth Card into a 3.5 by 1.5 inch strip. Using my filmstrip stencil and Hickory Smoke distress oxide ink I created a background for the animals. I used a small rectangular die to cut three aperatures along the film strip.
On a seperate piece of Bristol Smooth Card I stamped the elephant, monkey, rabbit and their relevent feet using my Catherine Pooler Midnight ink pad. I also stamped the greeting with the same ink. After allowing the ink to dry I fussy cut out the animals and feet using my Tim Holtz mini snips. I must admit after finish the fussy cutting I headed straight for the website and ordered the corresponding die set as I found the feet particularly difficult to cut out. I then coloured the images with the listed Zig clean colour pens.
After trimming the sentiments on my Tim Holtz 8.5 trimmer I used a blending tool to rub Hickory Smoke ink around the cut edges.
Using tombow mono liquid glue along the bottom edge of each animal I stick them to the reverse of the film strip, ensuring the heads were tucked through the apperatures. I then used the same glue to adhere the whole strip and the centre of the heads to a piece of black and white paper, which had been trimmed to 5.75 by 3.75 inches. This was then mounted onto a 6 x 4 inch card blank with glue. I then added one part of the sentiment to the top left corner and the other part to the bottom right corner.
