Live in the Moment Rainbow Card by Alison

This month the design team were challenged to use rainbows in their blog makes. I didn’t want to do the obvious, a rainbow, so I decided to take the approximate colours of the rainbow and create something else.

For this card I started by cutting a piece of Bristol Smooth Card to 5.5 inches square. Then using my stamping platform, I took Visible Image’s Flower Inkognito stamp and using versamark ink I stamped the flower head around the edge of the piece of card, overlapping the previous image and the edge of the card. I then applied clear embossing powder over the images and used my heat gun to set it.

After allowing the piece to cool I sprayed the card generously with water and using a wet paintbrush I dabbed patches of the listed colours of Catherine Pooler reinker onto the piece, ensuring I cleaned my brush between each colour. I allowed the colour to run where it wished but mopped where puddles were forming with kitchen towel so no muddy looking puddles formed. I then left it to dry overnight.

The next day I stamped the live in the moment sentiment using a versafine onyx black ink pad. I then mounted the topper onto a piece of black card and trimmed to leave a small border. I then stuck this to a 6 inch square card blank using Tombow mono multi liquid glue.
