Hi, it’s Jeni with a card tutorial using minimal supplies that could be used for Christmas, but with different colours, could be used for Birthdays or Just Because cards. All the products I used are listed at the bottom of this post and linked to the shop.
I’d love to see your crafty cards – feel free to share them with us over at the Facebook Group. And you make video tutorials don’t forget to apply to be on our YouTube team! Don’t forget the last shipping date for UK orders is 2pm 17th December. Now onto this card.
Background
Ink up the Peppermint Stick Rubber stamp with Samba ink and take your card to the stamp. I placed some scratch paper over the top so I could hold the card in place and run my fingers all over the stamp to make sure that every area gets some ink. The scratch paper keeps my hands clean. If you want the option to double stamp to make sure you get a perfect impression you can use the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform set to the Rubber Side. I didn’t mind the spotty areas from where I didn’t ink up my stamp enough. Crafty friends know that handmade items can have these little imperfections. It’s Handmade, not Hallmark.
Diecutting
Next I die cut the postage frame from the Crafty Dies set and used the stamps from the Crafty Turnabout stamp set – with by Concord and 9th. I stamped the sentiment “Crafty Friends are the best” with the Samba ink and added some stamped sequins too. I stamped the sequins going across the frame to match with the stripes on the background. The sequins are stamped with Samba ink – 1st and 2nd generation, and I thought I need a little bit of a different colour, so I stamped twice in Twilight ink. All I have to do now is attach the postage frame with some foam tape and add this to a card base.
I can’t believe it’s Christmas already. Charlotte will be sharing a card tutorial on YouTube on 18th Tuesday, and then we are all having a couple weeks off. The Design Team will be back 14th January.
