Hello, Janet here with some background pattern stamping with the Say it with Diamonds Stamp by Catherine Pooler Designs. I’ve made two cards and one matching card and gift tag for Christmas. I love the diamond patterns and sentiments in the set and can’t stop playing with it. Below I show that it can be used for Christmas cards as well as other cards you need throughout the year.
I use a limited colour palette for each card. For the birthday card I firstly stamped my sentiment in the middle of the card with Royal Treatment ink and used Twilight and Black Jack as my two colours for the pattern around the sentiment. Using the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform for all the stamping to make sure that the vertical ‘line’ in the stamp would be correct. I thought this needed something to help focus on the sentiment, so I die cut a white frame using the postage frame die by Avery Elle and adhered this to the panel, then to a A2 card base.
For the second card I stamp the sentiment with Sand Castle ink and the floral diamond pattern with Polished and Bellini – alternating the colours as and when necessary. The sentiment reads “A Little Kindness Goes A Long Way”. I add another Postage Stamp Frame die and add this to a A2 card base.
Finally, I was also have this matching gift tag and card using the same stamp set to create a background. I used a different pattern and stamped with Peppermint Scrub, Polished and It’s a Girl inks to create an all over back ground.
Then use a large tag die by Avery Elle and die cut the panel to make a tag shaped card. I also die cut the same panel with the smaller tag die from the Shaker Tags die set on the bottom right hand side.
The panel was then adhered to the card base with scor tape. The sentiment from the Corner Sentiment Holiday stamp set by Avery Elle is stamped near the bottom right of the card base. The dots were from the For Everything set by Catherine Pooler and were stamped using the same colours as above, randomly just to add some more detail. To finish this card I made a small bow out of red ribbon from my stash.
On the left over tag I stamp a sentiment from Holiday Cheer Stamp set by Concord and 9th on a spare piece of card and cut this out very close to the words using my guillotine trimmer. Then I adhered this to the centre of the tag. I cut some red ribbon from my stash and placed this through the hole in the tag. So now you have a card and matching tag for the present.
How many gift tags do you need? For a couple years we didn’t use gift tags – each of us had a huge gift bag each.
