Hi, Jeni again with two cards showing how to use non-Christmas stamp sets using Catherine Pooler Designs products for Christmas Cards. I borrowed the Say It With Diamonds stamp set from Mom’s craft desk and use some of the newer colours of CPD inks.
I will list all the products at the bottom of this post. Starting next year, we hope to sell our finished cards on Facebook and donate some of the proceeds to charity. This will be done via the Ellie Lane Crafts page.
Stamping The Background
Both the cards are one layer and can be stamped directly onto a card base. Since the only dimension is the foam mounted sentiment panel and this won’t add much weight. Most importantly to remember is to use repositionable purple tape, to mask off the back of a card base to keep it clean and ink-free.
Firstly, I line up my card with the lines on my craft mat to help keep my stamping as straight as possible.
For the blue card, I use the outline leaf pattern stamping with Sand Castle ink vertically up the card. Then fill in the gaps with a solid leaf stamp and then use Suede Shoes ink to complete the background.
Likewise, with the red card, I stamped with a different leaf design from the same set, stamping at an angle with Sand Castle in the top ‘half’ of the card. Stamping one row below this with Samba ink and finish the bottom corner of the card with Sand Castle ink.
Using a stamp platform, I line up the stamps to read “Have a merry and bright Christmas” and stamp this onto white card twice. Finally trim both sentiment panels to the size of the sentiment and pop them up with foam tape to the centre of the cards.
Christmas Card making season is nearly over. I have two cards finished cards to add to my stash of cards.
