Summer Wreath CAS card by Janet

Hi, it’s Janet here with a clean and simple wreath card with some dimension.  Two weeks ago we had a stand at the Handmade Fair in Bowood – and it was hot! Guernsey is quite cool right now, with splashes of hot sunshine, so I thought I would share a clean and simple card with some bright flowers by Avery Elle. All the products I used are listed and linked at the bottom of this post. Now onto the card.

Wreath-Card-Avery-ElleStamping & Colouring

I stamped the flowers and leaves onto some Bristol card with the Midnight ink and used my Zig markers to colour them in.  I used 70 Orange, 52 Bright Yellow and 50 Yellow to get some variations.

On some flowers I added the Orange to the center, blended out the colour with Bright Yellow, and finished blending to the edges of the stamped lines with Yellow.  On other flowers I just used two markers.  Orange and Bright Yellow, or Bright Yellow and Yellow.

For the leaves I used a combinations of 40 Green, 47 May Green and 45 Pale Green. (To make it easier to find the Zig colours you are after Jeni has placed them all together in one listing).

I die cut all the images with the coordinating dies and placed them in a circle on my card front – which is a piece of Neenah Solar White.  To help keep my circle a circle I lightly traced around a circle die onto the card front.  I placed the three larger flowers first in a triangle first, then filled in with the smaller flowers – making sure the colour of the flowers was evenly spread around the circle too.

Next I arranged the leaves until I was happy with the placement and started adhering all the stamped images down.  I used tape runner for most of the leaves – there are two on foam tape, and foam tape to add some dimension to add the flowers.

For the sentiment I stamped “For A Wonderful Friend” with the same black ink I used for the flowers onto a piece of Bristol card and trimmed it down.  I adhered this to the bottom left corner of my card front.  I then trimmed and scored a piece of card to make a 4.25″ x 5.5″ card base and adhered my card front to this.

Thank you for reading my latest blog post. I love making cards and being able to share with you.  Don’t forget to join our Treehouse group on Facebook to share your creations with us!
