Sunshine Card using Honey Bee Stamps by Alison

Hi it’s Alison and I hope you are all enjoying the wonderful hot weather. I’m feeling a little nostalgic and wanting some rain so I chose to use the seasonal sweeties stamp set for this post.
Honey-Bee-Stamps-Sunshine-Card
To create this card I first took a piece of Bristol Smooth Card that was 6.75 inches square and created a watercolour background by spraying it with water, then using a wet paintbrush I added mermaid lagoon distress oxide reinker. I allowed the ink to move in the water. I also tipped it to get some runs. I then left this to dry overnight.
To add detail to the background I used Avery Elle’s Indigo stamp set and some of the small icons from the Seasonal Sweeties set. I used the listed Catherine Pooler inks to do this. I used my stamping platform for the larger stamps and an acrylic block for the smaller ones.
On a seperate piece of Bristol Smooth Card I stamped my chosen image and sentiment using Catherine Pooler midnight ink. I coloured the image using the listed prismacolour pencils with a blending solution and blending stubs. I then fussy cut out the image using my mini snips. I used a rectangular stitched die to cut out the sentiment and then using a sponge dauber I brushed juniper mist ink around the edge.
Next I mat an 8 inch square card with a 7.5 inch square piece of dark blue card from tonic and then added my created background. Sticking both pieces with tombow mono glue. I then stuck the image and sentiment to the background using foam pads. I used a waterbrush and a zig clean colour marker in grey to add a shadow under my image. Finally I added some flat back white pearls to embellish the card.
