Hi, It’s Janet here with a bright summery card using the Avery Elle Spring Bouquet stamp and dies. I love freesias – they are my favourite so I just had to use them for this bright summer card. All the prodcuts I used to make this card are listed at the bottom of this post and available from the online shop. I hope you find this card inspiring – leave a comment to let me know what you think.
I stamped and heat embossed the floral bouquet with Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink and used Ranger Clear embossing powder onto Canson Bristol card. I used Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers to colour in the image. The black embossed lines made it so I didn’t need to be all that careful about going outside the lines.
I used 47 May Green for the stems, and 50 Yellow and 51 Lemon Yellow for the petals and buds. I added the Yellow at the base of the petals and blended out the colour with Lemon Yellow. Bristol card (Strathmore or Canson) are the best papers to use for seamless blending with the Zig markers. If you find you are having problems blending on Strathmore Bristol try the Canson Bristol. I diecut this with the coordinating dies by Avery Elle on my diecutting machine and placed aside to work on the rest of the card.
I diecut the largest Postage Frame die twice from Neenah Solar White card and glued them together. I looked through my backgrounds but couldn’t find one I liked so borrowed one from Jeni. She created this background with Distress Inks and the Honey Bee Layering Sunburst stencil set.
Jeni covered the whole background with Squeezed Lemonade ink, then placed down the first stencil and used Mustard Seed ink, the second layer of the stencil was with Wild Honey and the last stencil with Spiced Marmalade. These layering stencils are easy to line up with the center circle and each layer of the stencil adds another layer of depth to the ink blending.
I lay everything out on this ink blended piece to figure out where I can stamp my sentiment. I used “Sending” from the Honey Bee Stamps Seasonal Sweeties stamp set, “Sunshine” from the Honey Bee Stamps Hello Gorgeous stamp set and “& kisses” from the Avery Elle Sentimental stamp set all in black ink.
I used thin Be Creative double sided tape to add the frame around the card and tape runner on the floral bouquet before adding this to a 14 x 11 cm card base. And my card is finished. Does this card say “summer” to you?
