Hi, I created a video tutorial showing how I made these three cards using products by Concord and 9th. You can see this video by clicking HERE.
Turnabout Stamping
For the backgrounds I printed out the alignment guide for this Sunburst turnabout stamp and made my cross marks on the back of the stamp and trimmed a piece of card to 6 x 6″ (jig), and draw lines from each point to make a cross mark on the card. With this jig in my stamp platform I lined up the marks on the stamp to the lines on this jig – making sure everything was lined up correctly. I closed the lid of the stamp platform (on the clear side). For all the cards I used Neenah Solar White card trimmed to 4.25 x 5.5″ and used some tape adhesive to hold the card in place on the jig.
Ink Colours
I used the Party Collection – Life of The Party inks for two of my backgrounds, and Spa Collection – Zen Garden for one background. Inking up my stamp (little love taps) and closing the door to transfer the ink to the card. I rotated the card 90 degrees each time in the same direction and stamped with four different colours. I used the same stamp and die bundle for all these cards but finsihed them differently.
You’re The Best
The colours I used for this card are Something Borrowed, Tiki Torch, Lime Rickey and Tutti Frutti. I die cut the circle from the Everyday Circle die and stamped the sentiment in Midnight black ink.
This sentiment “You’re The Best Ever” completely fills the circle. I added this circle (which has some stitching detail) on foam tape and added it to the stamped background.
For more interest I added some bright Nuvo Crystsal Drops in colours that matched the stamping. The colours of Nuvo drops I used are Ripened Pumpkin, Dandelion Yellow, Red Berry and Midnight Blue.
Happy Birthday
For this card I used Party Dress, Tiki Torch, Tiara and Somthing Borrowed for this birthday card and trimmed my card down. I diecut the circle and the striped die from white card, then moved the striped die to cut it from the bottom of the circle too, and stamped Happy Birthday.
The sentiments are sized to fit between the extra dies that come with the Everyday Circles. Because my stamped background was all colourful I needed something behind the striped diecut to help it stand out.
I diecut another circle and used the direct to paper method to colour it the same Party Dress ink. Then used this technique for the small frame and on a piece of card to go behind the stamped panel. I finished this card with some irridescent sequins from a Little Things by Lucy sequin shaker mix.
Congrats
For the background with the Spa Collection of clolours I went for a softer looking sentiment. The colours I used are Shea Butter, Sea Foam, Sky Light and Sugared Lavender. I diecut the same circle die with the sunburst die (which gives a dashed line effect) from white card and stamped the sentiment with Sugared Lavender ink.
Again I use the direct to paper methoud to colour a piece of card to go along the edge and one of the frames. I trimmed the stamped panel down and adhered the Sugared Lavender strip to a card base and then adhred stamped panel.
Adding the circle diecut and layered three of the tiny frames with the purple frame on top. For the finishing touches I added some Morning Dew Nuvo drops.
Finishing The Cards
On all the cards I tried to adhere the center of the circle with the center of the sunrays. You can also place your focal piece off center, and it doesn’t have to be a sentiment – critters and florals look cute with this stamped background too! Let me know which is your favourite card? All the products I used are listed and linked below and are available from the online shop.
