Winter Birthday Card by Jeni

Hi, it’s Jeni with a clean and simple festive birthday card.  It can be easy to get caught up in the excitement of Christmas and forget the other celebrations that happen during Winter. Both Mom and I have birthdays in Winter and I remember how difficult is was to find a birthday card in the shop (before I started making cards).  We still have to use festive wrapping paper for presents.  Today I have a clean and simple birthday card to share with you.  All the products I used are listed and linked at the bottom of this post.

I placed the Snowflake turnabout stamp on the template and made my center cross marks with a permanent pen, then placed the stamp on my jig in the stamp platform to stamp it.  I placed a small amount of tape on a piece of Catherine Pooler Premium White card and adhered it to the jig.  I stamped the first turn with It’s A Boy ink and the second turn with All That Jazz. You can stamp this design four times in four different inks but I only used two turns.  I chose my favourite part and diecut a circle.

I stamped “Happy Birthday” from the Happy Plaid stamp set onto the diecut circle, and placed this on an A2 sized pre-folded card base.  I knew I wanted to add some sequins going across the card and spent some time finding the best placements. I like my sequins going at an angle across the card – flowing around the focal point.

I used the different sized sequins, confetti stars and snowflakes pieces from the Artic Skies sequin shaker mix.  When I had them in the right spot I used my Jewel Picker and Mono Multi glue to adhere them.  I have my liquid glue in an empty bottle with a fine tip applicator by Ranger.  This is the only way I can get small enough dots of glue for the confetti.  Then I foam mounted the circle onto the card base – making sure some of the sequins are ‘peeking’ out.

Do you have any celebrations during Winter? (Between December and March there are seven birthdays in our extended family).  Have you joined the Facebook Group yet?
