Hi, it’s Janet with three CAS (Clean and Simple) cards I used the new Avery Elle release. I find the Rays Die gives a delightful background as it is so versatile that it can be used again and again – it seems to be very popular – we sold out in a few days and are waiting for Avery Elle to manufacture more! All the products that I used are listed in the supply list at the bottom of this post with links to The Little Paper Tree online shop. The Cake For All clear stamp set has seven sentiments ranging from Happy Birthday and Congratulations to Happy Retirement, Get Well Soon and Happy Graduation. There are sparkles you can add to the cake and lots of flower and leaf clusters. I have two mostly white cards to share with you today and one bonus bright card at the end.
For my first card I die cut the Ray cover plate die from Catherine Pooler premium white card. I stamped the cake and three flowers from the Cake For All clear stamp set with Archival Jet Black ink onto Bristol card. I stamped a sentiment onto the cake then used my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers to colour in all the images. The colours I used will be in the supply list below. I used the darker colour for the shadows. I used one colour on the flower, going over the colour multiple times at the bottom of the flower to add the shadow. Once they were die cut with the coordinating dies I started putting my card together. I adhered the flowers to the cake – do you think they look like sugar decorations? The Ray die is slightly smaller than a standard A2 sized card so leaves a nice border. I adhered this to a card base then adhered the cake over the circle gap.
I used a different cover plate die for this birthday card. The die is the Arrow mat die also from the latest Avery Elle release. I stamped, coloured and die cut a cake and just one flower image. The colours I used will be below in the supply list.
The Arrow mat die gives you two pieces. The outside die gives an arrow decorated frame and the centre die gives this chevron pattern. I adhered this two the left hand side of a card base and foam mounted the cake in the centre of the card. The sentiment ‘Happy Birthday’ is stamped using Mardi Gras ink to co-ordinate with the leaves.
That’s two down one bonus card to go!
For the above card I repeat stamped the sparkles image with Tiki Torch ink to create an explosive background pattern. I foam mounted the outer frame from the Arrow mat die to frame the stamping. I stamped “Happy Birthday” with black ink and trim this into a flat ended pennant, and foam mounted this to the card.
I hope you like these clean and simple cards made using only a few stamps, dies and Zig Markers. Let me know which is your favourite in the comments below.
