Marbled Turnabout Background w Video Tutorial by Jeni

Hi, it’s Jeni with two cards using the new Marbled Turnabout stamp set by Concord and 9th. I always seem to do either two or five cards using the same stamp set at a time. Do you have the turnabout stamps? What do you love most about them? I love the new Jig to help set them up correctly without having to draw lines on your stamp. Share your turnabout cards with us at The Little Paper Treehouse Tribe.  I also have a video tutorial on the process of making these cards, but wasn’t sure how to finish the cards so I only filmed the full process for the green card.  I have the process for the pink card below, as well as links to all the products I used.

I show how to use the new guides that come with all the new Turnabout stamps and the new turnabout jig in the video tutorial so will skip that part here.

I stamped the Marbled Turnabout stamp with Distress Oxide inks in Black Soot, Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick. Cleaning my stamp after each colour and rotating the jig 90 degrees.

I trimmed my card down a quarter inch to have a white border for when it goes onto its cardbase. To diecut the circle I used the die from the Birthday Basics set. I love when one diecut gives me two elements to use on two cards.

I held the negative frame to a pre-scored notecard and stamped a big bold sentiment through the circle. The sentiment comes from the Birthday Basics turnabout stamp. I foam mounted the pink marbled background onto the card base and this card is finished.  I thought about adding some black enamel drops but I felt that they would compete with the marbling on the background.

I used the positive of the circle die on my next card.  It took me a while to decide what I wanted to do with this one. I tried to use a sentiment from the Sunshine Turnabout stamp but couldn’t find one that I felt would work.

So I stamped a “happy birthday” on white card and trimmed it into a banner strip.  To add a bit more interest I added the pink marbled circle with foam tape to a prescored card base and added the sentiment strip with foam tape too. I left the strip the full width of the cardbase and made sure to have a double layer of foam where the sentiment strips lie over the card base.

What colours would you use for the Marbled Turnabout stamp?
