Hi, I have a scene shaker card using the new Woodland Fox stamp set by Sunshine & Bee Designs – my own stamp designs!!! There is a coordinating video up on YouTube too. You can see this video by clicking HERE.
Links to the products used at the end of this blog post. I love all the stamp designs in this release, but Woodland Fox are my favourite (should I have favourites?)
Firstly, I took two pieces of Bristol card, I diecut a circle from one piece. I also cut some clear acetate cover the circle diecut and picked which sequins to use.
There is more detail about the colouring in the video and have all the colours I used listed at the bottom of this post in the supply section. All the colouring is done with the Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers. Adding the darker colour at the sides of the foxes head, body and arms and blending towards the centre. For a centre highlight. The toadstools also have the same shading technique. Both foxes and all the toadstools were then fussy cut out leaving a white border.
For the blades of grass I used three green markers and held the markers vertical to the card and flicked up the card. I also continued the grass on the inside of the shaker too.
With all the detail in the grass area I felt the sky area looked empty. I used a cloud stencil and a black pen to trace some clouds in the sky. Also stamping the sentiment inside one of the clouds on the inside of the shaker. The piece that will at the back of the shaker is larger than the diecut circle gap. To highlight the clouds, I added a light blue marker just around the edges to give some depth.
Making The Shaker
To make the shaker, I added some strong Scor tape to the back of the circle piece (with the grass colouring on the front) and adhered the acetate. Then covered the frame of the circle with two layers of foam tape. Removing the backing from the foam adhesive to make it easier to go around corners.
I poured the sequins onto the backing card for the shaker (the piece with the sentiment stamped) then lined up the clouds and pressed down all along the foam tape. Checking that there are no gap in the foam tape. I needed to add two layers of foam on the rest of the card so that it would be level when adhered to a card base.
Let me know what you think of this card – either here on the blog or over on YouTube.
