Hi, are you all ready for Christmas? All your decorations up? Presents wrapped? Today, I have an interactive card featuring Trinity Stamps products. The Slimline Surprises die, the Gnome for the Holidays stamp and the Holiday Patterns paper pad. Watch the video process below, and read on for the written card details.
Stamp onto Bristol vellum card with black ink and colour with Catherine Pooler inks and a blender pen. I used Grape Crush and Flirty Fuchsia for the car. With Black Jack and Twilight for the metal parts and the tires. Grass Skirt for the Christmas tree, and Tiara for the star. Lime Rickey, Deck The Halls, Grape Crush, Something Borrowed, Fiesta Blue and Suede Shoes for the presents.
The gnome is Sand Castle for the skin and Twilight for the beard. Deck The Halls and Cranberry Fizz for the hat and gloves. This interactive card is going to someone that loves purple, and I tried to use as much purple as I could without going overboard.
Interactive die cutting
From the Slimline Surprise die set, I die cut the frame from the snowflake paper and the inner pull tab die from the dotty paper. Folding along the score marks on the slider part. I adhere the bottom of the pull tab (dotty pattern) to the bottom fold on the frame (snowflake pattern) with strong Scor Tape. Then add adhesive tape along both sides close to the pull tab but not too close (I think I put the tape too close to the pull tab).
Cut 110lb Neenah card to 7” and score at 3.5” to make a slimline card base that measures 8.5×3.5” and adhere the slider frame. Then pull up the tab to make sure everything is working correctly and moves smoothly. The pull tab will get easier to slide up and down the more it is used.
Next, I adhere the die cut gnome just above the first fold on the slider. The sentiment is from the Treemendous stamp set. The sentiment I want to use (from the Treemendous stamp set) is a long sentiment, and I want to stamp this over two lines. I cover the first part of the sentiment with purple tape, ink up the stamp and stamp “Merry Christmas” along the bottom inside the frame on the card base.
Clean the stamp well (with Squeaky Clean and a Stamp Scrubber) and cover the ending of the sentiment. Ink with Midnight ink and stamp above the “Merry Christmas” I continue the sentiment on the inside of the card base with “and a happy new year!” SUPER IMPORTANT TIP: Remember to remove the purple tape before stamping!
