CP Ink Colour Blends Mini Series – Urban Oasis

posted in: Blog, Jeni 2

Welcome back to the last in the mini-series of Catherine Pooler Designs ink colours. The Urban Oasis collection is a warmer and brighter set of eight colours in the Spa family.  Zen Garden are toned down and muted. Paradise Found are deep and rich – Urban Oasis fits between the two collection shades.

You can find out more about the ink colours and what makes them different from other inks at this blog post, and find the other posts in this mini-series here.

The Spa Collection by Catherine Pooler has three collections of ink pads. Zen Garden, Paradise Found and Urban Oasis. Each collection of ink colours are available individually as full-size ink pads and refills, and Paradise Found has just been released as mini collections of 8 mini ink pads.

Three Colour Blends

For the last of the colour blends (I’m not counting the Neutrals as colour), I lay all the Urban Oasis inks on my desk in rainbow order and picked three that were next to each other to blend together. The card I use is Bristol Vellum trimmed to 4.5” x 2” and I use the Life-Changing Blending Brushes for the blending. One brush for each colour.

I found I had to be careful not to blend out the middle colour.  A larger piece of card would have been easier to ink blend for these swatches.

Pink Champagne, Sangria and Queen for a Day

Pink Champagne, Rouge and Orange Peel (I do like the Pink Champagne colour)!

Lemongrass, Orange Peel and Rouge

Two Colour Blends

I tried some two colour blends just using the primary colours – Lemongrass, Hot Tub and Rouge

The Lemongrass and Hot Tub blend is one of my favourites.

Cleaning Brushes

The main point of this mini-series is seeing which colours will blend well together. I go into more detail about how I use the Blending Brush Scrubber in the first post in this series which features the Spring Fling colours.

Leave a comment if you would like these ink blend swatches all together as an A4 printable. This is the last post in this mini-series soon featuring Catherine Pooler Designs ink colour blends.  Although I will try out the browns (Sand Castle, Over Coffee and Icing on the Cake) ink colours and the grey (Twilight and Black Jack) ink colours.

Find all the other posts in this mini-series featuring each collection of Catherine Pooler ink colours.

To store all these swatches, I punch a hole in one end and secure each collection on a binder ring.  Keeping them with my ink pads so they will always be easy to find.  Now I that I have all these visual swatches I can see which colours from different collections will blend well together.
