Thankful-Friends-1
I enjoy colouring florals and the beautiful floral in the Thankful for Friends stamp by Pinkfresh Studios has been waiting on my craft desk for a while. I mix ink colours from the Party collection and the Spa collection for all the stamping and colouring. You can watch the video tutorial below or over at YouTube here or read on for the written tutorial and two extra cards.

Colouring with CP inks

I use Royal Treatment and Sugared Lavender for the colouring. Keeping the darker shades at the base of each petal and where one petal overlaps another. The stems, leaves and receptor are with Spruce as the shadow colour and Eucalyptus. The card is Bristol Vellum with Midnight ink for the stamped flower.

Stamping Stripes

The stripes are Pinkfresh Studios Gradiating Stripes pop out stamp. I keep all the pieces from the stamp together. I use the same purple inks for the stamping. Adding in Sweet Sixteen as the lightest purple. I visually split the stamp into thirds to decide which stripes to ink with which colour. The flower is die cut from the stamped panel so it can be placed inside the gap.

Thankful-Friends-3

The sentiment is from the same Thankful for Friends stamp set. Heat embossed in white on a Royal Treatment coloured card and popped up over the stems.

Bonus Card

I have two bonus cards that use the same supplies. One where I left the flower uncoloured and added a simple sentiment. I still may colour this flower – maybe in grey tonal shades.

For the other card, I stamp the Gradiating Stripes stamp with Twilight inkΒ and add the flower coloured with Zig Clean colour real brush markers. I trim down the stamped panel and still need to adhere this to a card base to give a white border around all four sides.
