Hi, it’s Jeni with a card tutorial. I was working on a “Use All The Stamps” video tutorial with the Dream Big stamp set by Catherine Pooler – well I thought I was but I wasn’t actually recording. But because the stamping is all in a straight line (I used an acrylic block), I decided to share this card with you in a blog post and as a reminder for you not to give up!
Using a small stamp, I stamped a full background, starting with It’s A Girl about half way up the card. I stamped once, inked up my stamp and lined the stamp up with the previous stamping and moved the acrylic block to give the same spacing between the stamping. Below this I stamped again, off setting the stamp so it fit inside to make a pattern. I stamped three rows with It’s A Girl, then two rows of Mint To Be above this, and finished the top of the card with Melon Ice and the bottom with Bellini. I am stamping on CPD Premium White card – this is a nice bright white 110lb card.
Sentiment & Embellishments
I stamped the sentiment “Never Give Up” in the middle row of It’s A Girl. This card looked great, but I wanted to zing it up a bit. I added a drop of a Nuvo Jewel Drop in the centre of each stamp. I used Limoncello on the Melon Ice ink, Key Lime on the Mint To Be ink, Rosewater on the It’s A Girl ink and Orange Marmalade over the Bellini. Tapping the underside of the card to flatten any points on the drops and left this to dry overnight.
Finishing The Card
You could stamp this directly onto a card base if you wanted to. I adhered this onto a card base and will add it to my box of cards ready to be posted. Share your makes using this stamp set, or other stamps over on our Facebook Group. I hope you enjoyed this blog post. I hope to have more inspiration to share with you soon, either here on the blog or over on YouTube.
