Ombre slimline stamping ft Trinity Stamps w/video by Jeni

Hi, I have three cards that use the same products by Trinity Stamps – Slimline Leafy background stamp, With Sympathy stamp and Slimline Stitched Stripes die.  I kept these cards clean and simple. With some ombre stamping with three green Catherine Pooler inks. Watch the card process on YouTube below, or view here on YouTube.

Ombre stamping

Because this slimline stamp fits inside a stamping tool for easy double stamping, I thought I would step up my inking for some fun ombre effects.  The colours I use for all the stamping are Deck The Halls ink pad, Grass Skirt ink pad and Garden Party ink pad.  All by Catherine Pooler Designs. Grass Skirt and Garden Party are available as mini ink pads as well as full sized ink pads.

Stamping on slimline card

For the slimline card, I start by inking the middle with Grass Skirt. Holding the ink pad at an angle and pouncing it along the stamp.  I don’t want a straight line and pouncing (or dancing) the ink pad along the stamp will give an uneven inked edge.  Stamp one long side with Deck The Halls, and the other side with Garden Party.

Stamping on standard card

With Sympathy background is stamped with just Deck The Halls and Garden Party.  To help these edges soften I pat the edge of the Deck The Halls inking with a paper towel before stamping.  Clean the stamp, and do the same with Garden Party for the top half of the stamping.

For You With Love background is stamped with the three ink colours for a horizontal ombre look.

The sentiments are all from With Sympathy stamp set.  Die cut the Slimline Stitched Strip die from Neenah Solar White card and stamp the sentiments with Deck The Halls.  With Sympathy is added with foam tape over a strip of card coloured with the Deck The Halls ink pad.

The slimline card has one wide strip across the width of the stamped panel, which I trimmed to leave a border on a white card base.

Add more of the thinner stripes for the “For You With Love” card.  Trim the stamped panel smaller, and pop up with foam tape.

Finish with sequins

All three cards are finished with cupped sequins in shades of green or flat sequins in brown.

We are celebrating our 5th birthday this month with some great offers for you. Will you find a Lucky Leaf in your order?
