Giraffe-Slimline-4

How cute is this giraffe? There is not a better animal for a slimline card. The Tall Tales stamp set by Trinity Stamps is perfect to encourage young readers. I made a “Good Luck/Well Done” card.  The video tutorial is below, and here on YouTube.

The colouring is all with Catherine Pooler inks. I find myself reaching for the Paradise Found colours whenever the weather starts getting cold.  The colours I use from the Paradise Found collection are Mandarin Spice, Sauna, Daydream, Eucalyptus and Royal Treatment.  I use the full-size ink pads, but Paradise Found is also available as mini ink pads. I use Over Coffee (and Midnight for the stamping) from the Neutral collection. (Midnight is available as a mini ink pad too – I use this solid black archival ink all the time!)

Add interest to the Essential Slimline die with the Scattered Circles stencil with Mandarin Spice and a blending brush.  Then give the giraffe and stack of books a ground to stand on (so they aren’t floating in space).

Stamp the big sentiment stack from Kudos To You, and trim into banner strips and foam mount to the card.  The stack of books are flat to the stencilled panel and the giraffe is foam mounted for some dimension. Ink the edges of a slimline card base with Mandarin Spice to finish.
