Hi, sometimes I love just being able to stamp and have a finished element for my cards. The butterflies in Happy Butterflies don’t have to be coloured – which makes them great for quick cards.
Inking The Background
Firstly, on a piece of watercolour card, I ink blend with Catherine Pooler inks. Using Juniper Mist and Daydream from the SPA collection. My favourite way to ink blend with the CP inks is by using a brush from the Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Blending Brushes.
I start with Juniper Mist to cover the bottom half of the card, starting with the brush off the card slowly bringing it onto the card. Daydream ink is the top half of the card. I go over both colours again to deepen the colour and cover the white from the card. Then diecut the Garden Edge die twice, and adhere this to the inked background.
Two Tone Stamping
I ink up the bottom of the butterfly stamp with Tiara ink and the top with Orange Twist, then stamp onto smooth white card. Originally I stamp two yellow/orange butterflies and one blue butterfly. The blue butterfly is stamped in Juniper Mist and Daydream. But I thought the blue butterfly didn’t look right with this background.
Finishing The Card
Stamping the sentiment from the same set onto a banner strip, I adhere in the middle of the card between the two butterflies. Then adhere this onto a card base.
