Hi, I really enjoyed drawing the new digital designs in Sunshine Bee Designs ‘Spooky Autumn’ release, and love using them to make actual cards.

I shared finished cards on Sunshine Bee Designs Instagram, but chose to keep this lovely one to share with you.  (Click here to visit Sunshine Bee Designs on IG and hop along with the SBD design team)! I had a specific person in mind when I worked on this card.

Hello Lovely card

I resized the Autumn Circle Wreath digi stamp to fill the long side of 4.25 x 5.5″ sized card and print onto Neenah 80lb card. (I ‘bulk-plan’ 4 cards with digital stamps to make the best use of a sheet of card). Next I type and print a ‘hello lovely’ sentiment at the same time, and then I trim my card to A2 card size.

I use Copic markers for the colouring.  Usually I colour light, medium, dark, medium, light. But for this card I use the darkest marker first, then the mid tone and finish with the lightest colour.  The lighter colour just at the tips of the leaves where the highlights would be.

  • YR24, YR14 and Y17 for the flowers.
  • YG67, YG17 and YG03 for the darker leaves.
  • YG17 and YG03 for the lighter leaves.
  • C2 and C00 around the flowers and leaves.

Next, I trim the sentiment and two pieces to card slightly larger than the sentiment strip to act as a matt for the sentiment. One I colour in YG24, and the other in C02.  Each adhered behind the other and mounted onto the card front.

Lastly, I glue three Boiled Sugar embellishment drops in a triangle around the card design. And finally, mount to an A2 card base.

The basic card making supplies are listed here and here. I can’t wait to see the cards you make with the new Sunshine Bee Designs stamps.  Share you cards made with the new digital stamps in the Paper Tree Tribe group on Facebook.
